Tallow Skincare and Acne-Prone Skin: What to Consider
Considering tallow skincare for acne-prone skin? Learn about CocoVayé’s formulas and why moisturizing is different from treating acne.
If you have acne-prone skin, choosing a moisturizer means considering the whole formula and your own skin’s response. CocoVayé tallow creams are cosmetic moisturizers, not acne treatments. We do not promise clearer skin, fewer breakouts or that a formula will never clog pores.
Moisturizing and treating acne are different
The American Academy of Dermatology explains that moisturizing can be part of an acne-care routine and recommends looking for oil-free, non-comedogenic products. CocoVayé’s tallow creams contain fats and oils; they are not oil-free moisturizers. The word natural does not establish that a product is suitable for acne-prone skin.
Check the exact ingredients
The Natural moisturizer contains tallow, MCT oil and vitamin E without added fragrance. The scented day creams have different formulas, and The Original lists Parfum in its ingredient list. Read the ingredients for your selected product rather than assuming the whole range is fragrance-free.
Introduce a new product carefully
Patch test before first use and stop if a product irritates your skin or causes breakouts. If you are treating acne, ask your dermatologist which moisturizer fits your routine and continue your prescribed care. Customer experiences vary and do not prove that a cosmetic product treats acne.
